Bert "Max" Cottrell passed away on August 19, 2016, in the hospital, at age 74. He was born in Mena, Arkansas on July 23, 1942. He served 3 tours in Vietnam with the United States Army, while serving in the Special Forces, earning a Purple Heart. He served 30 years in the Army Reserve, retiring as a Colonel.
He moved to Houston in 1965. He started his career with Kimberly Clark. He then went to work at the Astrodome, in sales and marketing. He went on to work in property management, and started his own business in the 1980's, naming his company Capital Management. He retired in 2008.
Max is survived by his loving wife, Judy Cottrell, his son Jeff Williams, and his grandson, Jeff Williams, Jr.
His hobbies included traveling, Houston sports teams, Texas A&M. His passion and love was photography.
