

Bessie grew up in Alexandria, LA and moved to Houston, TX in the early 1960’s. She graduated from Peabody High School in Alexandria, LA. She retired from Houston Lighting & Power (HL&P) Security in the early 2000's.
Bessie loved going to church. She was a faithful member of the North Houston Church of Christ from the early 1980’s until she became ill in early 2018.
She loved listening to Gospel music, the Temptations, shopping and dining out. She adored and had unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was an amazing mother and one of a kind. She will be truly missed and her memory will be treasured forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice W. & Thomas Quinney; beloved husband, Mack Green; sister, Patty Williams, and brother Thomas Quinney Jr.
Her memory will be cherished by her survivors, daughter, Theresa Crain & husband Enricky Crain; son Michael Wayne Green; grandchildren, Sean Crain, Nicholas Crain, Brittany Fields; great grandson, Christopher Nigel Green Jr; sisters, Dorothy Henton, Edna Whatley; niece Patricia Henton and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dorothy and Patricia Henton for their gracious and persistent assistance with the care of mom while she was ill. It takes a village to care for the chronically ill.
All services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039 on Saturday, October 16, 2021. with Rev. Leroy Burton, N. Houston Church of Christ officiating the service. A Visitation for Bessie will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The Funeral service will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the Committal Service will immediately follow from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
