

She is preceded in death by her son, John David Hawn. She is survived by two sisters, Fran Tucker Culwell and Beth Tucker; both of Houston. Mrs. Hawn is survived by her daughters, Julianna Holt and husband Peter M. Holt of San Antonio; granddaughters, Ashley Sikes and Corinna Holt, of San Antonio; and grandsons, Peter John Holt, of San Antonio and Jason David Hawn and wife Cari, of Austin; great-granddaughter, Polly Hawn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Among Bette’s many interests were tennis and gardening, but her principle interest were art, being an artist herself, and collecting great art and antiques.
Bette loved to hunt and was an excellent marksman; having won several skeet shooting competitions. She was also known as an excellent quail shot.
She was a member of the Junior League of Houston and of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church.
At Bette’s request a private family memorial service is to be conducted on the 5th of February at The Church of St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Boulevard in Houston where the Rev. Dr. Douglas W. Richnow, is to officiate.
Mrs. Hawn’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Cleo Woods, Ana Don and Audrey Jones for their loving care.
In lieu of customary remembrances; the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Bette’s name be directed to the Church of St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Blvd., Houston, TX, 77019; or to the charity of one’s choice.
