

Bettie Jean Dodd passed away peacefully at Harbor Hospice on January 25, 2017 at the age of 88. Bettie Dodd is the eldest of two sisters and one brother. She is predeceased by her mother, Electa Oaks, father, Norman Riles, and sister, Irene Fifer. Bettie Dodd was born in Hollis, Oklahoma on January 15, 1929. She was raised in New Waverly, Texas until she moved to Houston, Texas in her early twenties, where she resided and raised her family. Bettie is lovingly remembered by her brother, Aubrey Goffney (Myrtle) of Houston, her sister, Shirley Stoneham (James) of Houston. Her children, Margaret Robinson of Houston, Jonathon Crawford (Deborah) of Palmyra, Flamingo Crawford of Houston, and Caroline Joe-Babino of Houston. Her grandchildren, Jaramona Crawford of Houston, Deion Cross (Damon) of Sugarland, Kimberley Grayson (DeCarlos) of Katy, Alexandria Crawford of Houston, Jonathan Robinson of Houston, Jonathan Crawford (Meredith) of New Albany, Michael Crawford (Kathleen) of San Diego. Her great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Crawford, Jasmine Sallie (Melvin), Ian Crawford, Deja Cross, Daelyn Cross, Ryan Crawford, Seth Grayson, Montgomery Grayson, and Leia Crawford. She is also remembered with love by her nephews, Nehemiah Fifer and William Fifer, nieces, Glendora Armstrong, Cynthia Stoneham, Sylvia Stoneham, Vinita Roberson (Larry), Azalea Rose Mosley, Linda Harvey, and many other family members and friends. In her lifetime, she worked as sales representative for Fuller Products, a short-order cook in various restaurants, an entrepreneur owning and operating an ice cream truck, and a home cleaning service. Bettie most enjoyed quilting and gardening.
