Bettie Harper, 86 years old of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at Highland Park Rehabilitation Center, Houston, Texas on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from complications of Dementia. Bettie was born on June 17, 1934 in Winnsboro, Louisiana. Bettie married her high school sweetheart Clyde H. Harper, they were married for 34 years until Clyde’s death in 1986.
Bettie bore three daughters, Elizabeth, Linda and Deborah, she was a devoted Air Force military wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Bradley and William Reagan, her sister Patsy Pipes, her daughter Linda and her great grandson Wyatt Joseph Turley.
She is survived by her two daughters Elizabeth (Joseph) Green and Deborah Harper (Kurt) both of Gulfport, Mississippi. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Afton, Jacob, Juston, Kelly, Michael and Nicole and 8 great grandchildren, Willow, Taylor, Wyatt, Jacob Jr. KellieAnn, Michael Clyde, Ryker and Gunnar.
Bettie was a fun red head. She loved to sing and joke and watch Doris Day movies. She was a great sales person and worked in administration for a law firm.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at Highland Park Rehabilitation Center and Season’s Hospice for the care and sweet attention she received while in their care. Also to Paradise Funeral Home for their kindness in handling Mama’s affairs.
Committal Service will be held on April 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at Houston National Cemetery, 10401 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX.
