

Bettie was an extraordinary woman who inspired all around her to love unconditionally. She was married to her late husband for 59 wonderful years and was a longtime member of Tallowood Baptist Church. She was a Sunday bible school and Vacation Bible School teacher, and a Girl Scout leader. Her favorite things were attending church, shopping, and getting her hair and nails done. She also loved to travel to Greece and Hawaii, and was the owner of the company Acro Tapes. She will always be remembered for her kindness and beautiful soul that touched everyone in her life. She never met a stranger.
Bettie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert E. James JR; four siblings; and one grandchild, Shannon Gibson.
She is survived by her five children, Bobby James, Barbara James Lloyd, Carol James Abel, Joyce James Kocian, and Linda James Hardcastle; eighteen grandchildren, Christine James, Angela Hardcastle, Holly Lloyd Loncaric, Michelle James Gerberman, Melanie Lloyd Carlton, Melissa Gibson, Elizabeth Hardcastle, Christopher Lloyd, Jonathan Lloyd, Steven Hardcastle, Brian McCauley, Barry Abel, Jeff Kocian, Brittany Hardcastle Connerley, Bobby Zek Hamilton, Kevin Kocian, James Hardcastle, Kari Ann James; twenty-five great-grandchildren, Cory, Mason, Andrew C., C.J., Casey, Madison, Katie, Kaila, Hailey, Emily, Kaylee, Aiden, Ethan, Madeline, Evelyn, Alexis, Colton, Maeson, Audrie, Andrew L., Caden, Brooklyn, Caleb, Olivia, Elizabeth; three sisters-in-law, Peggy Wilson, Dorothy Brown, Berniedean Blackmor; and one brother-in-law, James Wilson.
A celebration of Bettie’s life will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the chapel of Cypress Bible Church, 11711 Cypress N. Houston Rd. Cypress, TX 77429.
