

Betty is survived by daughter, Charlotte Tidwell and husband Steve Tidwell of New Caney, Texas, son, Jessie Matranga of Kingwood Texas and granddaughter Makayla Matranga Tidwell of Orlando Florida. Betty is also survived by several stepchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, sisters, numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Marie Franklin, her first husband, James “Buddy” Matranga of 33 years, her second husband, Walter H. Baudat of 22 years, brother Elton, sisters Virginia and Jo Ellen , step daughter Katherine Gail and step son Mike Matranga.
Betty was a stay home mom while Charlotte and Jessie were younger. After the kids got older, she worked for Aldine ISD Food Services. After many years, she left Aldine and began working for Target. After 20 years she retired from Target.
Betty had a passion for plants and animals. Betty spent many of her days working outside with her flowers. She had the biggest green thumb. Her love of her pets was unmatched. She loved animals and supported every organization she could to help animals.
Betty loved her family, her pets and her friends. She was hardworking, dedicated and always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Betty will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.
A visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral will occur Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside will occur Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
