Betty Jean Dillard

Betty Jean Tibbets Dillard, 90, was called Home by the Lord on Wednesday, July 31, 2019. She was born on April 23, 1929, in Noel, Missouri to Martin and Margaret (Kiester) Tibbets. Betty married the love of her life, John Dillard Jr., on June 20, 1947, and they raised two children together. Betty retired after a successful career with the City of Houston’s Public Works and Engineering Department. Betty’s greatest joy was serving the Lord and spending time with family and friends. She served her church in various roles, including teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Charles Tibbets, and daughter, Margaret Ramsey. She is survived by her son, Leonard Dillard, and his wife, Joni; grandchildren, Melanie Barrett, Steven Barrett, Veronica Wingo and husband, Roy, Brad Harris and wife, Stephanie, and Steven Harris and wife, Danielle. Betty is also survived by eleven great grandchildren, a number of other loving relatives, and dear friends.

On Saturday, August 3, 2019, visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home at 1:30 PM. Subsequently, Rev. Zane Crawford will conduct funeral services at 2:30 PM followed by graveside services.
