

Betty Ruth Goehring, age 86, of Sugar Land, TX, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. She was born July 11, 1929 in Arneckeville, TX to Benjamin and Sophie Hotz Kruse. Betty met her loving husband, Alois Goehring, in Rosenberg, TX while working at the Cole Theater. They married on June 5, 1948 and were married for over 63 wonderful years until Al's death on November 25, 2011. Five children were born from their union. She was a long time parishioner at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land, TX.
Betty was a stay at home mom until the children were old enough for her to work outside the home. Her first job was as a sales clerk at Montgomery Wards Department Store. Then later, she went on to be a technical manual writer for Texas Instruments for over 25 years. After her retirement she and Al loved to go camping at various places in TX. She was also able to spend more time working on her arts and crafts and paintings which she dearly loved doing. She made everything from earrings to decorating shirts, home decorations and so much more. She enjoyed flower gardening so much and could get anything to grow from all kinds of cuttings. She was also a wonderful cook and seamstress, making all her daughters' dresses when they were young girls. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and aunt, who would do anything and everything for anyone who needed help. She was also a strong willed lady who faced her illness with great strength. She loved her family very much and was devoted to her Lord and Savior. She was loved by all her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Sophie Kruse, sister Mary Ann Benton and her loving husband Alois Goehring.
She is survived by her children, daughter Carol and husband Danny Terral, daughter Angela Kreutzfeldt, son Christopher Goehring, daughter Sharon Peirce and son David and wife Margarita Goehring. Grandchildren Russell and wife Katie Terral, Evan Goehring and John Peirce, Jr. Great grandchildren Jonathan and wife Rocio Duckworth, Stephen Duckworth and Rosemary Duckworth. Great-great grandchildren Leylah Duckworth and Aron Banuelos. Also her sister Dorothy Jean and husband Wayne Boehm, aunt Claudia Pyka and numerous nieces and nephews and two very special people in her life whom she loved dearly, Pete Kreutzfeldt and Jay Garza.
Pallbearers will be Danny Terral, Pete Kreutzfeldt, Russell Terral, Evan Goehring, John Peirce, Jr. and Lee Boehm.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077 on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 5:00-8:00 pm with rosary at 7:00 pm. A mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 705 St. Theresa Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77498 on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11 am with The Rite of Committal following at Forest Park Westheimer cemetery at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow at 2:00 pm at the Community Center at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
