Betty Neill Whiteley

On February 11, 2012 Betty Whiteley had her final wishes granted when she joined her beloved husband of 53 years, Joe V. Whiteley, with our Father in heaven. She was born on the island of Nassau, Bahamas where she grew up enjoying God’s beautiful tropical paradise. There she was raised by her father and mother, Richard and Mariel Neill, learning to love the wind, the surf and the beautiful sea. After moving to Jackson, Mississippi she met her one love, Joe Whiteley, while he was playing in a jazz dance band at a local performance. Their love and marriage gave them three surviving children; Michael J. Whiteley, Suzanne A.W. Fuqua, and Brent N. Whiteley. In 1964 she and her family moved to Houston, Texas where she enjoyed her career as a makeup specialist at Neiman Marcus. More than anything she loved caring for and raising her three children.

Whiteley, John M. Whiteley, Austin A. Whiteley, Taylor B. Whiteley, Melissa L. Fuqua, Other beloved family: Heath Neill, Rochelle Wallace, Cathy Fletchinger, Celia B.Ogrodowski, Jeanell L. Whiteley, Dr. Thomas O’Neill, Linda Neill, Ethan J. Whiteley, Victoria E. O’Neill, Aaron A. O’Neill, Eric J. Garcia.

She is now with God and is again laughing, singing, and loving with her beloved husband Joe on one of God’s heavenly beaches.

Service at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas Saturday February 18, 2012 . Visitation at 9:15am & services in the funeral home chapel at 10am. Reception to follow at her daughter’s home.
