Bettye Barry White

Bettye White, longtime resident of Bay City, went to heaven on February 10th with her family by her side.

Bettye was born in Cotton Valley, Louisiana to Burt and Alma Barry. She graduated from San Jacinto high school in Houston and attended Baylor University.

Bettye married her high school sweetheart Tom and they raised their three children in Bay City.

Bettye and Tom lived and traveled around the world for many years. They loved experiencing different cultures.

Retiring back in Bay City, Bettye enjoyed gardening, reading and was an avid bridge player. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Hospital Auxiliary and the Junior League and loved volunteering at the library.

Her favorite times were spent with her family and friends.

She was preceded by her husband of 52 years and leaves three children and their spouses, six grandchildren and their spouses and three great grandchildren.

Bettye will be interred in Houston in a private ceremony.
