Mama Kay will best be remembered for her delicious home cooked meals. When she cooked, there was always enough for seconds. Family gatherings often consisted of Mama Kay and her sisters cooking up a feast along with hours of story telling. Mama Kay had a warm, inviting personality that often turned strangers into friends. She worked many years for DHL where she built lifelong friendships and obtained many achievement awards. Mama Kay was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, family, friends, and at the arrival of a new QVC package. Mama Kay had a strong faith in the everlasting love of God that was unshakeable. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
The family wishes to thank doctors Liu, Chu, and Mani and the countless nurses and aids at Terrebonne General Medical Center. They provided Mama Kay with compassion and care during her time in the Hospital. Also, a special thanks to Mrs. Phyllis Dugas for the countless hours of love and care provided to Mama Kay.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mama Kay’s name to the Bringing up Down Syndrome Organization (102 Mary Beth Avenue, Houma, LA 70364) which is a cause that was close to her heart because of her granddaughter Briley.
