Beverly Jean Sullivan

Beverly Jean Sullivan, 88, of Houston, TX passed away September 24, 2019. She was born in Houston, TX on August 2, 1931 to Edward Footman Ward and Helen Louise Ward. She was married to Robert Lee Sullivan for 39 years. Beverly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a member of Jersey Village Church of Christ and had a passion for her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family.

Beverly was a native Houstonian and very proud of it. A very faithful Christian! She met the love of her life at a very young age and they were married when she was 16. She never left his side as he fought the hard battle against cancer. A battle he lost at the young age of 59. She was absolutely the best Mom ever to her four children, Sue and Robert who preceded her in death and Debbie and Cecile. She has 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She loved them all so very, very much!

In her younger years, she loved to travel and was on many bowling leagues. Never had idle hands; when she sat down, she would crochet. Loved crocheting blankets and booties for those grandchildren. She was a diehard Astros fan and stuck with them even through their bad years. She loved to cook and tried to feed everyone! And everyone knows she loved her chocolate!!

Beverly always loved her ladies’ Bible classes. The single most important thing in her life was her Savior Jesus Christ and she always let his light shine bright through her life. Though we selfishly want her here with us, we take comfort knowing she is home and whole in the loving arms of Jesus.

Beverly is preceded in death by husband Bobby; son Robert; daughter Sue; sisters Gladys, Shirley, Peggy and brother Sonny. She is survived by daughters Cecile (Kevin) and Debbie (Joe); grandchildren Angie, Robby, Amanda, April, Amy, Kevin Jr., Kelley, and Kelsey.

A private family graveside will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will occur on Saturday, September 28, 2019, 4:00 p.m. at Church of Christ in Jersey Village, located at 8810 Jones Rd, Houston, TX 77065.
