Beverly Van Ness, 82, entered eternal rest on September 19, 2020. She was born April 29, 1938 in Houston, Texas. Beverly’s family was one of the first families to settle in the Aldine area. She attended and graduated from Aldine High School. Beverly was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She worked many years as a card lady for Hallmark and she also ran an in-home daycare. She loved working in her garden and was a foster parent to 69 children throughout her life.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Paul A. Van Ness; mother Ruth Beltz; father J.B. Yocum; brothers: Ray Yocum and Delphus Yocum. Left to cherish her loving memory, daughter Michele DeLuna & husband Richard DeLuna; son Michael Van Ness & wife Sandy Van Ness; grandchildren: Lauren DeLuna-McDonald & husband Sam McDonald, Heather Pouge & husband Jerry Pouge, Tiffany McGarity & husband Chad McGarity; great grandchildren: Landon DeLuna-McDonald, Peyton Wilson, Logan Wilson, Clayton Wilson, Colton Wilson, Dakota Wilson, Chad McGarity, Jr., and Jordy McGarity; along with many foster children and foster grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will begin on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 2 p.m. All services will take place at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, Texas 77039. Interment to follow immediately after the funeral service in Brookside Memorial Park.
