Beverly Genell Stewart was born on February 23, 1939, in Annapolis Maryland to Andrew and Bonnie Stewart. Beverly, with her Mother and sister moved to Kansas City, Missouri after the death of her father, a Naval officer, during World War II. She graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City and then attended Pittsburg State College in Pittsburg Kansas. She married Albert Yeomans on September 5, 1959. In 1967, Beverly and Al moved from Kansas City to Houston, TX where they raised three children. Beverly was a very dedicated and caring mother to her three children. She was active and engaged in each of their lives and created a home full of laughter and warmth.
Beverly’s faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was central to her life and it was her personal desire to faithfully obey and serve her Savior. Beverly was very involved in her church (Braeburn Bible Chapel/First Colony Bible Chapel) including ladies bible study, teaching children’s Sunday School, and vacation bible school. She spent many summers supporting children's camps at Sandy Creek Bible Camp. For several years Bev hosted a “backyard bible club” at her home. She saw several children profess faith in Jesus as Savior.
Over the last 20 years of Bev’s life, she suffered from mental illness which became debilitating over time as she experienced severe anxiety. She will be dearly missed, however her family is grateful her suffering is over.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Al, her son Steve Yeomans, daughter Jill Yeomans (Joanna Smith) and three grandchildren, Zach Proctor, Izzy Smith and Hadley Smith. She is preceded in death by her daughter Brooke Proctor (DeWayne) and her sister Betty Mathews.
