Billie Jeanne McFarland Harper, 90, of Porter, Texas passed into eternal rest on March 12, 2020. She was born in Houston, Texas on July 24, 1929. Billie Jeanne graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and then received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Houston. She married Jessie Riley Harper June 6, 1950. Billie Jeanne had a career in education, teaching in Houston area schools and retail sales, when she worked as a Manager for Walden Books. She served as the president of the MacArthur High School Band Parents, was a member of Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society.
Left to cherish her memories are daughters: Delilah Jeanne Miller and husband Allen Mac Miller, Sharon Eileen Shafer and husband Donald Shafer, Jessica Artie Harper; grandchildren: Stephanie Laura Mullin and husband Steve Gerard Mullin, Michael Allen Miller & Heather Marie Scott, Matthew Gene Miller & Christine Marie Miller; great-grandchildren: Sebastian Jeremy Thacker, Brendan Kade Scott, Ryker Scott Miller and Nolan Gene Miller.
The family will receive friends for services at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on Saturday, March 21, 2020, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral service to begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
