December 4, 1927 – March 29, 2022
Our beloved Bill, 94, passed away peacefully on March 29 after a brief illness. Born in Independence, Missouri to parents James and Lulu Hart, he grew up the eldest of five children, with three sisters and a brother. He met and then married his lifelong sweetheart Pauline Teri in Kansas City, Missouri on November 27, 1952. This year they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. His love for Pauline knew no bounds.
Bill held the rank of Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served in Okinawa, Japan. He continued his service in the Army Reserves after the war. He worked as General Manager of the General Motors Parts Division most of his adult life. General Motors transferred him and his family from Kansas City, Missouri to Wichita, Kansas and then to Houston, Texas in 1968. He retired from General Motors after 37 years and continued to work until his final retirement at Sam White Oldsmobile.
He was an avid bowler, golfer, and coin collector and loved spending time with his family. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas Presbyterian Church for 53 years, and gave generously of his time and talents.
Bill loved music and along with his big smile, always had a song in his heart. Known for his sweet disposition, Bill was cheerful, helpful, dependable, and never met a stranger. He will be remembered by all as the best husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Bill was blessed with a large loving family. He is survived by his wife Pauline Teri Hart, their children and spouses; Rick (June) Hart, Becky (Kevin) Walker, Teri (Kevin) Courter, as well as grandchildren; Justin (Stacee) Hart, Jason (Lisa) Hart, Heather (Jaime) Bubela, Amanda (Travis) Bassett, Grant (Celeste) Walker.
