Billy Joe Bookman, a beloved member of the Houston community, was born on September 19, 1960, to proud parents Roger Lee Bookman Sr. and Eunice Mae Bacon-Bookman. He was the ninth child out of
thirteen siblings.
From a young age, Billy had a strong faith in God and was baptized at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where he attended under the guidance of the late Reverend G.G. Grant Sr. He received his education from the Aldine ISD School District.
Billy inherited his father’s construction skills and worked in the family business, Bookman Construction Company. He was known for his generosity and selflessness, often using his skills to help others in need without seeking any payment in return. Billy had a passion for art and was a talented artist, especially with a pencil in his hand. Despite life being kind to him, Billy also faced his share of challenges. However, he always persevered and did things his way until his health started to decline. But even then, he continued to inspire others with his unwavering faith in God.
The devil may have had a plot , but God had a master plan, and now Billy has been called to his eternal home in heaven. Let us all give praise to God for the life of Billy Joe Bookman.
