Billy Ray Hood

Billy graduated from Humble High School. He met Stacy in Houston and they were married on July 17, 2019. In the steady, practical ways that mattered most, Billy took pride in the life he built—finding simple contentment in hunting and fishing, and in the satisfaction of keeping his yard clean and well cared for. He also devoted himself to his work at EGC, the company his dad began from their garage, honoring that family foundation through his own years of commitment.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Reka Hood; and his sisters, Cara Callison and Teresa Stanley.

Billy is survived by his spouse, Stacy Hood; sons, Glen Hood and wife Patricia of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, and Aaron Hood of Spring, Texas; stepsons, James Chandler and wife Quentina of Beaumont, Texas; Johnny Chandler and wife Samantha of Vidor, Texas; and Jeremiah Chandler and wife Odalis of Spring, Texas; stepdaughter, Rachel Gartrell and husband Cory of Chili, New York; as well as two bonus grandsons and five bonus granddaughters, including his partner in crime, “Allie Cat” Chandler. Billy is also survived by his brother, Keith Hood & wife Brenda of Houston, Texas.

Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, Grand Oak Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on April 26, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, Grand Oak Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on April 27, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

A Committal Service will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on April 27, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Montes, Clay Callison, James Chandler, Johnny Chandler, Jeremiah Chandler, and Andrew Gartrell.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center.
