Bobbie Lois Melcer, of Cleveland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024 at the age of 88.
Born in Cameron, Texas on January 18, 1936 to Louis and Emma Kirchenwitz. She will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and loving kindness to family and friends. She dedicated her life to being a housewife and taking care of her family with love, a warm embrace, and a listening ear. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elton Kirchenwitz and Edell Kirchenwitz; great-granddaughter, Kelsey Dawn Bates.
Bobbie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Floyd Melcer; son, Louis Parker, Jr. (Cindy); daughters, Donna Tucker (Royce), and Cynthia England; grandchildren, Amy Scott (Joshua), Jennifer Blake, Crystal Niersel (Jeff), Emily Bates (Kevin), April Lewis (Raymond), and Candice Kallus (James); 9 great grandchildren, Megan, Taryn, Cheyenne (Kaiden), Rebecca, Kaleb, Kara, Karson, and Dominik.
Honoring Bobbie as pallbearers will be Jarrod Antley, Joshua Scott, Jeff Niersel, Kevin Bates, Raymond Lewis, James Kallus and Cody Horn. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Robert Wolfe.
A visitation for Bobbie will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A rosary service will occur Friday, August 23, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A committal service will occur Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
