On Sunday, September 1, 2019, Bonita “Kitty” Louise Jones Ruffeno, mother of four children, passed away at the age of 89. Kitty was born on April 6, 1930 in Bisbee, Arizona. She resided in Stafford, Texas for many years and had a successful hair salon business. She found an interest as a real estate agent and progressed on to apartment management where a transfer led her to Gilmer, Texas. She resided in Gilmer, Texas for over 25 years, acquiring many friends, whom she loved tremendously. Her passion for her church was admired by many as she was involved in almost all activities, especially the choir. In her early retirement, she opened a trade business in Gilmer, devoted to southwestern and Native American products. She was extremely proud of her Native American heritage and created many beaded items which were displayed at her business. She is survived by her four children, John Whistler III, Mary L. Ruffeno, Terry “Bubba” Ruffeno, Ralph “Bill” and wife Carolyn Ruffeno, and grandchildren Kari, Taelor, Tyler, Anthony and her beloved cats, Singer and ‘Lil Dude. Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. through 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. A Religious Funeral Service will be on Monday September 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. All services will be located at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road Houston, TX, 77077.
