Bonnetta Lavern Davis

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Bonnetta Arnold on August 14, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. Born on December 8, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, Bonnie graced the world with her boundless love, spirit, and generosity for 75 beautiful years.

Bonnie was the beloved daughter of Otha and Martha Arnold, who preceded her in death alongside her dear grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Her early years were spent in Akron, Ohio, where she graduated from Buchtel High School, setting the stage for a life filled with dedication, compassion, and achievement.

Bonnie's professional journey led her to Texas, where she dedicated her talents as an Executive Secretary for Compac Computers. Her recent work with the Election Board, under Judge Toi, was a testament to her civic commitment and her ability to forge lasting friendships with colleagues and supervisors.

A woman of unwavering faith, Bonnie was a past member and First Lady of Jordan Grove Missionary Church. Her devotion to her faith extended beyond her personal life, influencing her involvement with the National Women of Achievement. Her spiritual grace and community involvement inspired all who knew her.

Bonnie's love of decorating and fashion was as vibrant as her personality. Known for her immaculate sense of style, she had a particular fondness for leopard prints and elephants—symbols of her unique and spirited nature. Her fashion choices were a reflection of her creativity and zest for life.

To her surviving siblings, Otha Arnold, Terence Arnold, and Cynthia Arnold Jones, Bonnie was more than a sister; she was a beacon of love and support. Her family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Ben Taub Hospital for their compassionate care during her final days.

In honoring Bonnie's memory, the family requests that donations be made in her name to kidney disease research or a charity of choice, celebrating her legacy of giving and kindness.

Bonnie's life was a tapestry of faith, love, and unwavering dedication to those around her. She will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know and love her.
