Obituary of Bonnie H. Ko
Bonnie H. Ko, 97, of Houston, Texas, passed away at home on Friday, April 9th, 2021, of natural causes. She was surrounded by her family. Bonnie was born in Taiwan on January 17th, 1924. She graduated from Japanese Beauty College and continued her education, learning chemistry from her brothers in order to develop formulas for haircare and beauty. She created a successful career in beauty while she and her husband raised their six children together; both immigrating to the United States in the late-1970’s. Bonnie was drawn to opportunities to deepen her experience and understanding of the arts. She enjoyed many hobbies and interests; cooking, gardening, fashion design, sewing, crafting, fine arts, performing arts and was diligent in learning all she could. She was also actively involved in the Chinese Community Center and the Japanese Association of Greater Houston. Bonnie was married to Ko Hsi-Tsu, a businessman and factory owner. He preceded her in death in 1989. Bonnie is remembered and celebrated by many people, especially by her family of six children, Cindy Ko, Judy Pang, Sumi Ko, Tim Ko, Emily Wu & Nancy Tai. Eleven grandchildren, Wei-Ju Wong, Charlie Lee, Melissa Williams, Karen McCallum, Judy Lee, Wei-Shou Pang, Shu Rau, James Wu, Fred Wu, Carol Tai & Christina Tai. And eleven great-grandchildren, Brandon Wong, Madison McCallum, Jonathan Wong, Megan Wong, Rachel McCallum, Vincent Rau, Julian Rau, Abbey Wu, Julia Wu, Henry Wu and Benjamin Wu. And fur pups Dylan Tai, Penny Wu, Ellie Rau, Evie Williams, and Gracie Wu. Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, April 24th, 2021 at Forest Park Westheimer. In-Person funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 24th, 2021 at Forest Park on Westheimer. Cremation will follow the service on Saturday. Burial will take place on Sunday, April 25th at 10:00 AM at Forest Park Westheimer. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Forest Park Westheimer.
