Bonnie Lee (Laughlin) Williams, 99 1/2 , of Midland, TX, formerly of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother. She was so proud of the legacy of five generations.
Bonnie was born July 23, 1926 in Houston, TX to Harry and Viola Clara (Nichelson) Laughlin. At an early age she lost her mother, and was raised by her grandmother, and her Uncle Henry and Aunt Elizabeth Laughlin. Bonnie graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1944 where she was a proud member of the cadets and drum corp.
While living with her Uncle Henry, Bonnie was introduced to the Lord and was baptized at a young age at Heights Christian Church in Houston, TX. This was the beginning of a lifelong journey of faithful service to her Lord. She was an active member of Heights Christian during her childhood. After graduating from high school, she worked for Bell Telephone until her marriage to Wallace. After she and Wallace married, Bonnie was a dedicated wife and mother. After marriage, Bonnie and Wallace attended Second Christian Church, and later helped with a new church plant – Aldine Christian Church. After all the children were married, they built a house in Spring, TX, and placed their membership with Northside Christian Church.
Never meeting a stranger, Bonnie would share the gospel of her Lord and Savior with everyone she met. She not only shared it, but she lived it. Volunteering and serving were second nature to her. Whatever she could do to help she was willing to do – from taking meals in to those who were ill, to visiting hospitals and nursing homes, to working with Vacation Bible School, leading classes, helping at church camps, sharing her flowers with her neighbors – the list could go on and on. She was tireless in her love for the Lord, as well as her love for others.
She volunteered not only in her church, but also in her children’s schools and activities. She took great joy in her family, and loved being with them, teaching them, and guiding their spiritual and educational journey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Laughlin Hays, her loving grandmother, Allie Laughlin, her uncle and aunt, Henry and Elizabeth Laughlin, son, Michael Williams, grandson, Jeremiah Williams, and the love of her life, her husband of 32 years, Wallace Williams.
