

She was born October 26, 1924 in Ozark, Arkansas to parents Anne and Finnis Stockton Sr. and was the youngest of seven children until her half-brother Eugene Jones was born in 1932. Boots came to Houston in 1936 and graduated from San Jacinto High School. She was asked by her sister Frances to take a date she couldn’t honor and met the love of her life, Thomas Clifton Spencer, Sr. who she married on Christmas Eve 1941. They had three sons, Cliff Jr., Ronnie and Kevin. She was a loving wife, mother and memaw and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She worked at many different jobs and retired from Norton Ditto in the early 1990’s. Boots and Clifton were active members of First Baptist Church North Houston until their health no longer permitted. She is survived by Cliff & Shirley of Spring, Ronnie & Patti of New Caney and Kevin & Kelly of Kingwood, six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Boots is preceded in death by her parents Anne and Finnis Stockton Sr., brothers Grady, Finnis Jr., W.G. and Eugene Jones, sisters Kathrine, Christina and Frances and husband Thomas Spencer, Sr.
The family will receive friends for a visitation Friday, August 05, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home followed by a burial in Brookside Memorial Park.
