Brenda Kay Plaster

Brenda Kay Lenihan Plaster was born on February 21, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to Patrick Allen and Mildred Jane Lenihan. She passed away peacefully in her home in Normangee, Texas, on August 26, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of a life that touched so many.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Allen Lenihan, her mother, Mildred Jane Frame; her stepfather, Earl Frame; her sister, Shirley Stifflermire; her grandson, Patrick Plaster; her granddaughter, Dallas Plaster; her great-granddaughter, Harliegh Leighan; her father- and mother-in-law, Homer and Katherine Plaster; her brother-in-law, Ray Plaster; and her nephew, Collin Plaster.

She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory and her love in their hearts: her sons, Shawn Plaster and daughter-in-law Tina Plaster, Joshua Plaster, and Billy Ray Plaster; her sister, Judy Istre; her grandchildren, Tamatha Holloway, Dakota Plaster and wife Courtney Plaster, Colton Plaster, Shelby Johnson, Kaitlyn and Ethan Pearson, Clayton Plaster, Emily Plaster, Eli, and Isaiah; and her great-grandchildren, Penelope, Delilah, Joseph, Adalyn, Karrigan, Waylon, Liam, and Aries. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who were blessed to know her.

Brenda was a wonderful mother to her three boys, a loving friend, an amazing cook, and a woman who could make just about anyone feel at home. She loved crafting, tending to her plants, working in her yard, and finding ways to make a dollar stretch a mile. She had a gift for making something out of nothing and somehow always knew how to make things work.

And then there were directions.

Brenda could not tell you how to get anywhere to save her life—but she sure knew exactly where the nearest Dollar Store, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, or, of course, King Dollar was. If there was a bargain to be found, Brenda was going to find it.

Brenda had a heart that was bigger than words could ever describe. When she loved you, she loved you with her whole heart. Her home was a place where you were welcomed, accepted, and loved. If you walked through her door, you could be sure of two things: you were going to be handed a cup of coffee, and if you somehow managed to leave hungry, that was your own fault.

She had a way of loving people that made them feel like family. Her kitchen, her home, her yard, and her heart were always open. She gave what she could, shared what she had, and loved fiercely.

Brenda’s greatest legacy will not be the things she owned or the places she went. It will be the people she loved, the family she built, the meals she cooked, the laughter she shared, the lessons she taught, and the countless little memories that will continue to bring smiles and tears for years to come.

Though she is no longer here to answer the phone, pour a cup of coffee, offer advice, hunt down a bargain, or welcome someone through her door, her love remains—in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Brenda. Your work here is done, but your love lives on in all of us.

Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, US, on September 3, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, and the Committal Service from 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm.

Active pallbearers will be Dakota Plaster, Colton Plaster, Ethan Pearson, Tamatha Holloway, and Emily Plaster, with John “JT” Goynes serving as an honorary pallbearer.
