

Brett Wayne Douglass passed away peacefully at home on November 10, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on February 14, 1951, in Great Lakes, Illinois, Brett was a beloved husband, father, and friend. Known for his kind and godly nature, he was cherished by those who knew him.
Brett grew up in Australia, Hawaii, San Diego, Newport, and later settled in Houston. He pursued his education at the University of Rhode Island, where he earned a Bachelor in Business. He dedicated 31 years of his career to the Defense Department, a testament to his faithful service and commitment to his work.
For 31 years, Brett was married to his loving wife, Carolyn. Together, they raised a daughter, Melanie Ayres, who was the joy of his life. Melanie, along with her husband Jeff Lewis, survives him, carrying on his humor and cherished family values.
A proud Southern Baptist, Brett was a long-time member of Houston's First Baptist Church, where he was an active participant in the community. In his personal time, he loved to read, with a particular passion for military history, especially World War II.
Brett's memory will be lovingly held by his wife Carolyn, his daughter Melanie, and son-in-law Jeff, as well as by all who were fortunate enough to know his warm and generous spirit.
