Budie Bryer was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on the 13th of September 1923 to Harry Bryer and Mable Stanley Bryer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Nix, Bill, Odie, Harry Carl, Stanley and young sister, Dorthy.
He was loved and revered by his loving wife of 65 years, Nell; children: Buddy Bryer Jr. & wife Melody, Caroline Stanley, Cynthia Perales & husband Ramon, Harry Bryer & wife Sandy, Michael Bryer, Paul Bryer & wife Debbie, Rebecca Armijo & husband Charles, Robert Bryer & wife Vi, David Bryer & wife Jennifer; loving sister, Juanita Bryer Wells; along with 36 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren & 7 great great grandchildren.
Bud had a long and respected life on this Earth. He passed away 21 days before his 90th birthday, in his own home surrounded by the ones he loved, after a long illness.
Bud was a strict but loving father, his guidance and example continue down the generations through his children and extended family. He always gave more than he promised and sometimes took less than he asked in his business and personal dealings with his friends and customers.
He was know across the country as a great ballroom dancer. He and his wife, Nell, entertained and livened many a party or wedding reception with their stylish dancing and smooth moves.
Bud was also the best son a parent could have.
When Bud was in his sixties he was asked by a son,"Dad why are you so hard on us?", Bud answered his son,"I want to raise you men to be leaders and not followers and if I am lucky enough, at least one of you will be successful so that I won't end up dying alone in a nursing home." His strategy worked, and his wish was fulfilled and his legacy will live on through everyone of us.
Special thanks would like to be given by the family to Bud's caregiver Sandy Fabra for making Bud's last months and life more comfortable and meaningful; and his grandsons Ramon and Valentin for all of the help, sacrifice and love that they gave to their Grandfather.
Visitation will be from 5-8PM on Monday, August 26th. Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Tueday, August 27th at Brookside. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
