Born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia on March 19, 1924, to Alma and Arthur Harvey, she moved to Sydney in her twenties. During World War II, she worked at the American Headquarters in Sydney for the Fleet Air Arm. After the war, she married and started a family. She taught all three of her girls to swim and supported them tirelessly with their swimming competitions over many years. In 1968, she remarried and moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma and in 1979 she moved to Houston, Texas. It was in Houston where she met her dear husband, Milton. They enjoyed many years together and spent a lot of time at the Houston Yacht Club and their weekend bay house. They also enjoyed many trips to Akumal, Mexico with family and friends. Bunty was an accomplished painter and put many of her paintings in exhibitions. Her family and friends enjoy seeing her paintings in their homes. Bunty was also very active in the Houston Chapter of the Australia/New Zealand Society and has many wonderful friends from the group that included her in so many things. She was also active in the Houston Association of Petroleum Landmen Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed accompanying Milton (a retired attorney/landman) to many conventions and functions associated with the American Association of Petroleum Landmen.
Most of all, she loved her home in Sydney, Australia. She and Milton spent several months out of the year at their home in Sydney and enjoyed the beautiful views from their place overlooking Manly Beach. She was active in the Sydney International Club and enjoyed going to the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Newport with her wonderful Sydney friends.
Bunty was a beautiful, classy woman who lived life to the fullest – an inspiration to us all. Heaven now has a wonderful angel who is no doubt dancing.
