Caleb was born on March 1, 2002 in Houston, Texas. He moved with his parents to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 2003 and then to Doha, Qatar in 2005, where he lived his childhood years. He made friends with a lot of the third country laborers and we believe this was the start of Caleb’s love for the underprivileged and downtrodden. In 2013, he returned to Houston, Texas and lived here during his teenage years.
Caleb loved to travel and visited 32 countries and several States during his 20 years. He and his mom made it a goal to visit all the Disney Worlds, which they accomplished as a family, and Caleb and his dad made a Father-Son ski trip every year. Caleb was active in church growing up and volunteered for many mission trips. He and his dad were remolding a condo at the time of his death and he was enrolled in classes to get a business degree, with plans to pursue a career in criminal justice. He enjoyed cooking, was an excellent chef, and loved passing out food to the homeless and those in need. During COVID, Caleb volunteered with the suicide prevention hotline. Caleb’s favorite saying, which he had tattooed on his arm, was, “It’s just a bad day, not a bad life.” He had a great sense of humor and was always making people laugh. He had fun playing X-Box with his friends and many have commented that Caleb always had their back. Caleb’s favorite activity was just hanging out with his girlfriend, Christina.
Caleb is survived by his parents, Gary and Melissa Rickenbacher; his grandparents, Peggy Mundt and Paul and Nancy Rickenbacher; his aunts and uncles, Kathy and Matt Norris, Steven Rickenbacher and Andree Corr, Kevin and Kelly Rickenbacher, and Jeff and Laura Rickenbacher; plus, his cousins, Jordan, Ashley, Jonathan, Ryan, Jason, Alexis, Zachary and Tyler. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Mundt and cousin, Erik.
