Barrett. He was the eighth child out of ten
children. He attended North Forest Independently
School District at (M.B. Smiley Senior High School).
At an early age Cardell was introduce to Christ at
Sunrise Baptist Church located in the Greater 5th
Ward area.
Cardell was known for his few words, cool
demeanor, contiguous laugh and smile. He was
very ambitious as well as very determined to have
what he wanted in life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, L.C. Jerkins
and Essie B Barrett and sisters, Princella Smith,
Glenda Faye O’Neal and Wanda Denise Jerkins.
Brother Johnny Lee Jerkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Georgette
Denise Smith-Jerkins, his loving children Tameka
T Vining, Jessica H Vining, Tyisha W Vining, Jared
Jerkins, Dawnsha Dewitt and Courtney Prince. His
cherished grandchildren’s. His sisters Thelma
Jerkins Gardiner, Erma Jerkins and Barbara
Edmonson. His brothers, Rudy Jerkins and Clyde
Jerkins. Aunts, Uncles, a host of loving nieces,
nephews, cousins and dear friends.
