It is with heavy hearts and countless cherished memories that we honor the life of Carl Vincent Baughman, who was called home to join his Heavenly Father at the age of 88. Carl was the cornerstone of our family—a man whose strength, kindness, and never-ending love made him not only a great brother, husband, father, and Gramps but also a true role model for all of us.
Carl graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, and his two years in the U.S. Army shaped the man we all adored. After serving, he built a fulfilling career as a supervisor at Camco.
For 65 beautiful years, Carl and his beloved wife, Lynn, shared a life together—a love story filled with authenticity, devotion, and a timeless connection. They created a life rich with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for one another. He loved traveling with Lynn; he cherished every journey they took, every new place they discovered, and all the memories they made together. Their love wasn’t just a bond; it was an example of how true partnership grows deeper and stronger over time.
While Carl was known for his toughness and resilience, it was his warm smile and quick wit that could brighten anyone's day. His humor served as a reminder that sometimes, the best medicine is a good-natured roast delivered with that unforgettable grin of his.
Carl found joy in life’s simple pleasures—tinkering in the garage, listening to the hum of a well-tuned engine, admiring the patterns in his freshly mowed lawn, popping the top on his favorite beer, cheering on his favorite drivers at NASCAR races, and sharing laughter-filled family meals. It was in these moments that his true spirit shone through. These memories are the treasures we will carry with us now and forever.
Carl is survived by his cherished wife, Lynn; his daughter, Kathy, and her husband, John; his son, Lane, and his wife, Carey; five amazing grandchildren—Brandon (Olivia), Megan, Sean (Kennedy), Ryan (Kate), and Bradley (Fiancé - Amanda); and three adorable great-grandchildren—Lawson, Noah, and Raelyn.
Gramps, you will be deeply missed, but your love, laughter, and spirit will live on in all of us. So, let’s raise a glass (or a beer!) in your honor and cheers to a life well-lived. Rest easy, knowing you made the world a brighter place for everyone lucky enough to know you.
We’d love for everyone to join us as we celebrate Carl’s amazing life on Friday, April 11, 2025. The service will be held from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
