Carl was born in Houston on March 24, 1942 to parents Mike and Mary Triola and grew up in West University. As a native Houstonian, he attended school at St. Vincent de Paul, Marion High School, and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a minor in accounting and psychology.
Carl began a successful career in the Houston Real Estate Market in 1970 and accumulated 41 successful years of real estate consulting and management that spanned a broad array of product types and marketplaces. In the early 80’s and until 1992, Carl was primarily involved in the brokerage, acquisition and development of investment properties for Gulf States Oil & Refining. With his wealth of experience and vast knowledge, he and his business partner Tom Carter founded Greater Houston Commercial Properties in 1992. Carl was actively involved in managing the company as well as managing and leasing Commerce Green, an 115,000 square foot office building in Sugar Land, and acting as the exclusive leasing agent for One USPTA Center in the Westchase Houston area.
Carl is survived by the love of his life, his beloved wife Janice of 40 years; his dedicated son Michael Triola and wife Brandie, his best friend and son Brett Triola; and adoring Grandson Carson Michael Triola; his sister, Sandra Triola; and Brother-In-Law, Jim Hallmark and wife Sandy.
Carl’s family is comforted by the memories of many happy years that were shared at his little piece of heaven on earth, his beloved farm in Chappell Hill Texas, as well as his passion of cooking Bar B Que. He shared this passion with everyone and the memories of all of the Bar B Que Cook-Offs with great friends and family will be cherished forever.
Carl will be remembered for his warm sense of humor, generosity towards all, love of family and especially his love for his devoted wife Janice. Carl was a wise mentor, respected business man, loyal friend and much loved father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who know and loved him. It has been said that he was a Dad amongst Dads and a Dad to many. He loved his family and friends unconditionally.
“Carl was an exceptional man and if you had the chance to meet him, you knew you made a friend for life.”
