

CARLOS M. GALVAN born on March 2, 1953 in Cuautla, Morelos, Mexico, went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2010 at the age of 57. Carlos grew up in El Paso, Texas where he graduated from Burges High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. Carlos was hired by Exxon Mobil as a Professional Engineer devoting 35 years of service in the Pipeline Division.
Carlos enjoyed action movies, loved all sports and a good book but, most of all, he lived life with the joy of family and friends. We will miss his sense of humor and his contagious laugh. He was a member of Current, a Christian Church. Carlos is survived by his devoted wife, Sandy Lozano Galvan; his loving parents, Jesus and Sara Galvan; daughter Vanessa Galvan (Aurelio Rodriguez); sons, Juan Carlos Galvan, Eric Hickerson and David Hickerson (Nadia); grandchildren, Sophia, Giovanni, Amber, Brandon, Caralie, Mia, and Ian; sisters Lucia Valdez (Carlos), Connie Macias (Armando), Norma Herrera (Angel), Felis Kennedy (Jim), Margie Hinojos (Efrain) and brother Jesus Galvan Jr.; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and many others.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. with burial following at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Pezzia, Dr. Namoor, Dr. Mahr for their hard work and care as well as the nursing staff at Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Diabetes Association of America.
