Born on December 9, 1951, in Zacapuato, Guerrero, Mexico, Carlos came to the United States at the age of 19 and proudly made Houston, Texas, his home.
Carlos was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, and a dear friend to many. His greatest joy was his family, and he devoted his life to loving, guiding, protecting, and providing for those he held dear. His strength, generosity, and unwavering love created countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Carlos was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He loved telling jokes and sharing the many stories he gathered throughout his life. His laughter, his stories, and his unmistakable way of bringing joy to those around him will be deeply missed.
He also had a passion for flying airplanes, an adventure that brought him great excitement and happiness. Throughout his life, Carlos worked as a welder, taking great pride in his work and in providing for his family. He was a hardworking and dependable man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand or care for someone in need.
Carlos leaves behind more than a lifetime of memories—he leaves behind a legacy of love. Though his presence is no longer beside us, his laughter will echo in our memories, his stories will continue to be shared, and the love he gave so freely will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elsa Perez; his mother, Josefina Perez Portillo; his children, Carlos P. Perez (Los), Sherrie Perez-Olguin, Carlos Perez Jr., Aimme Perez, Abrahan Perez, Nathan Perez, and Marie E. Perez; his grandchildren, Larissa M., Carlos R., Christopher R. Perez, Breanna D. Perez-Pizarro, Brielle E. Perez, Arian A. Perez, Scarlett Perez, and Juliett Perez; an expected grandchild, whom he eagerly looked forward to meeting and loving; and three great-grandchildren.
He also leaves behind many beloved family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, humor, and love.
Carlos was preceded in death by his son, Jim Rodriguez Perez, and his father, Hilario Perez Nunez.
Carlos will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, Grand Oak Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on August 15, 2026.
Visitation will be held as follows:
- Family Visitation: 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Reserved for immediate and extended family)
- Friends and Loved Ones are invited to attend visitation from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Memorial Service will follow from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life gathering immediately afterward from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
