Carol Ann Wade was born on January 12, 1952 to Lois Lee Horton and Alvy McElroy in Bay City, Texas. Carol is one of two children: Jacquelyn Ford (Abram, Sr). She is preceded in death by her mother and father.
Carol attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California. She ran track and played basketball. Soon after high school, she married Kenneth L. Wade. She has five exceptional children: Dawn Madrey (Michael) of New Braunfels, Texas; Bobby Johnson (Tammy) of Atlanta, Georgia; Maurice Wade of San Diego, California; Monique Guillory (Damon) of Houston, Texas; and Steven Wade (Megan) of Houston, Texas.
Carol worked all of her life and had recently retired. Her last employer of ten years was NorthStar Memorial Group. She was an accounts payable specialist.
Carol was resilient, caring, and sometimes quite humorous. As a young woman, she loved to drive race cars, listen to music and dance. Later in life, she enjoyed travelling, shopping, and caring for two of her granddaughters, Jada and Jordan. She, also, was a dog lover: Queenie, Suzie, Bailey, Eeoyore, Nyla, and Gus.
Carol was the matriarch of her family, and Christmas was her absolute favorite time of the year. It was her special time to gather all the family at her home for the holidays. She made sure Marissa, Lovell, Salvian, Savina, Michael Aaron, Jada, Jordan, Tyler, Taylor, Matthew, Quentin, Nathan, Lelani, Mackenzie, and Elizabeth had her love in the form of thoughtful gifts and wonderful memories.
The light of the Lord brightly shined in Carol’s eyes. She stayed in this fight we call life for as long as she could, and our lives were all the better for it. The Lord called her home on April 1, 2021 to take her rest and be at peace. She will be sorely missed but her legacy lives in her family, which includes nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
