Carol Watson

Born Carol Lee Prine March 18, 1947 to Martelle Catherine Ferree Prine and Willis Westmoreland Prine in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Carol passed peacefully at her home in Houston, Texas on April 21, 2017. Carol is Predeceased by her Husband, Milton Tyrone Watson; Parents, Martelle and Bill Prine; Brother, Richard (Dick) Allen Prine; Sister, Elois Marcine Prine Robertson; her Brother-in-Law, Dwain Allen Sylvester and Sister-in-Law, Nita K Yates Prine. Carol is Survived by her Sisters, Janet Marie Prine Sylvester Heare (Bob) and Lou Eda Prine Surfus (Delbert); Step-son, Milton Tyrone Watson, Jr.; 14 Nieces and Nephews, many Great Nieces and Nephews and 4 Great-Great Nieces and Nephews.

She graduated in 1965 from Central High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she participated in Choir and Drama Club. Being organized and meticulous, she worked at various companies in both Fort Wayne and Houston handling accounts receivable and payable. Carol was raised as a Methodist and loved to visit other churches with friends. She enjoyed traveling and took a number of trips with her family around the US and Europe. Her yard had beautiful gardens. She loved Dachshunds and fostered dogs for rescue groups.

Family was precious to her and she was happy that many of Tyrone’s family lived close. She loved being a part of the lives of the many children in her family and friends’ families. She always appreciated the help of her wonderful neighbors. She had a wicked sense of humor and made friends everywhere she went.

Carol was strong and a tenacious fighter. We are grateful for the wonderful care and encouragement she received from the staff at MD Anderson and Houston Hospice.
