She was preceded in death by her former husband, Walter Richard “Corky” Pope, his mother, Bessie Isadora Rath and his father, Walter Charles Pope, her mother, Jesse Maude “Tommie” Cass, father, Herold Robert Richard Schaefer, and brother, Lyndon Wade Schaefer and his wife, Kathleen Cochran Schaefer.
Carole graduated from Sam Houston High School, Houston, Texas in 1960, and graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1993. She worked as an administrative assistant for various Houston employers including H-M Oil Company and ExxonMobil Global Services.
Carole is survived by daughters, Kendra Dawn Pope, and Misty Danielle Pope and their children, Schaefer Drake Pope and Tristan Dade Pope; niece, Theresa Schaefer Boundy and family; nephew, Lyndon Wade Schaefer, Jr. and family; sister-in-law, Cheryl Ann Pope Blackburn Holt, and family; and a great group of Bridge ladies and long-term friends.
Private Services will be at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
