

Mrs. Bond was born September 10, 1934 in Shanghai, China to Mr. Ho and Ms. Huang from Pu-Tian, China. She graduated from Nan-Mo High School in 1950 and continued her high education in College of Medicine in Sheng-Yang, China. She received her doctoral degree in 1956. Upon graduation, she became a member of faculty at the Second Amy Medical University in Shanghai, China and taught Biochemistry until 1979.
She was invited by Dr. Joseph Melnick of Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas in 1979 and became a visiting scholar for two years in the United States. In 1986, she moved to Houston, Texas and became an associate professor in research in Baylor College of Medicine until her retirement.
Mrs. Bond was survived by her sons, Yubo Chen and Charles Chen of Sugar Land, Texas, and her stepdaughter, Claire Whiteside of Harrison, AR.
Her family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Chelsea Gardens Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center of Missouri City, Texas who took great care of her in her final days of life.
