

She grew up in Pensacola surrounded by the close-knit Nobles family and numerous cousins, attending Agnes McReynolds Elementary School, A. V. Clubbs Jr High School, and Pensacola High School. She attended Florida State University, was a member of Tri Delta Sorority (Diamond Circle Member), and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1953.
Shortly after graduation, she met the love of her life and husband of 55 years, James “Jim” Wilson Craig, and they were married on August 30, 1954. From their newlywed days in St. Louis, they moved to Orlando to start their family, before settling in Houston, which they called home. In addition to making a home and raising a family, throughout her life she put her secretarial and business skills and knowledge to work at Chemstrand in Pensacola, FL, Central States Paper & Bag Company in St Louis, MO, and Church and Dwight and Schneider Moore Properties in Houston, TX.
Throughout their life together, Jim and Carolyn loved to travel, with Hawaii, Alaska, Australia & New Zealand, and Europe being the highlights of their journeys.
Carolyn was an active volunteer at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital from August 1996 to January 2014, totaling 4,250 service hours.
She was preceded in death by Jim in 2009. She is survived by her four beloved children, Karen Craig Blewitt and husband John, James W. Craig, Jr. and wife Casey, Sandra Craig Griffith and husband David, Nancy Craig Kalin and husband Tom Hall, grandchildren Kenny & Melissa Rowley, Emily Rowley & Raphaël Cancellier, Mitchell Griffith, Craig Rowley, Alex Kalin & Robin Baumgarten, Braden & Lauren Griffith, Sarah Kalin, James Craig, and John Craig, and great-grandchildren Kenny Rowley III and Reese Carolyn Rowley.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Pati Robinson, Carolyn’s dearest friend and frequent companion, and Alpearl & Alara Okopie for their support and friendship.
