Carolyn Henson-Wade

Carolyn was the eldest of eight children born to Tommie and Helen Henson in Houston, Texas in 1951. Raised in The Heights and Acres Homes communities, Carolyn graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She went on to further her education, achieving a degree in Nursing from Texas Southern University. She was a dedicated nurse for over thirty years.

Carolyn served tirelessly, assisting those with chemical dependencies and mental health challenges.

In 1992, Carolyn met the greatest love of her life, Phillip L. Wade. Eager to start their new lives together, the two were married February 06, 1998.

Carolyn’s legacy will live on through her daughter, Courtney G. McDaniel (Timothy); son, Reginald Tardy II; stepsons, Phillip Wade, Jr. and Derrick K. Wade; stepdaughter, Stephanie D. Wade; grandchildren, Reginald Tardy III, Eriq Tardy, Jordan Tardy, Maliyah Tardy, Sophia Douglas, Brayden Tardy, Jaden Tardy, Justin Tardy and Tristan McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Five, Brother and Victor Henson (Sheila); aunt, Fannie M. Ross; nieces, Sara Henson, Shekevia Henson (Thadis), Victoria Henson; and nephews, Reginald E. Henson, Victor I. Henson, Keyon Henson and Tommy Henson.

Lifelong friend, Edith C. Green and Carolyn were practically inseparable throughout their lives. From childhood to motherhood, they were together through it all.

Carolyn is preceded in death by both parents, Tommie Henson and Helen Henson; brothers, Tommie Henson, Jr., Carl A. Henson and Reginald Henson; and sisters, Gwendolyn H. Stewart and Rosslyn R. Henson.
