Catherine Sorinc Mourey, born January 15, 1922, in Brownsville, Pa., passed away on May 11, 2015, in Houston, Texas. During WWII, Catherine proudly served as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. After moving to Houston with her family, Catherine worked as an RN at Houston Methodist Hospital for 20 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Mourey. Left to cherish her memory is her son Mark Mourey and his fiancée, Pam Dieffenbach; daughter Karen Penland, and husband Charles; two loving grand daughters, Jennifer Penland and Katherine Penland; brother, Bill Sorinc.
Visitation will be from 9:00am until the start of the funeral mass at 10:00am on Friday, May 15, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with a reception to follow at the church. A private Rite of Committal will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
