On Thursday May 15, we very unexpectedly lost one of the good ones. Cebe Sue set the bar for living life to the fullest with her vivacious personality. She was born on April 9, 1927 in Middletown, Ohio. In 1929, she and her family moved to Houston. She graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1944 and was a senior officer in the Golden Gauchos. She attended Southwestern University in Georgetown TX and University of Houston, was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and active in the Frontier Fiesta at U. of H.
On June 1, 1966 she married Captain Clifton "Clif" Barnett, in Houston, Texas. Together they formed Barnett Associates and Barnett and Casbarian, marine and ocean engineering consultants in the offshore oil industry. They were longtime members of the Petroleum Club. During their 41 plus years together, they traveled the world and made many wonderful friends. They retired to the Buckingham where they lived until their deaths. Cebe Sue and her family were longtime members of St. Martins Episcopal Church in Houston.
She co-founded The Village School in 1966 for children ages three to five years, ran it very successfully, and sold the school in 1973. She was Mayor of the City of Hunters Creek from 1983 to 1993. She was active in the Doorkeeper organization of the Open Door Mission Foundation. But her greatest achievement, joy, and love was her family.
