Cecil David Popham Jr.’s life was taken to soon on April 6, 2021. He was 55 years old. He was a devoted Husband, Dad, Son, Grandfather and friend to many. He was reunited with his Dad, Cecil David Popham Sr., his “Papa” Ervin Lee Grunewald and His two “Nannies” Ada Lou Grunewald and Frances Hilburn.
He was born on October 13, 1965 in Spokane, Washington. He later moved to the small town of Bandera, Texas where he met his loving Wife, Rhonda, of 38 years. They had three children together, Brittany, Robin and Cecil the III.
Cecil was a truck driver for 30 plus years and enjoyed every mile of it. He won multiple safety awards and truly loved the open road. His CB handle was Triple C “CCC” for his dad, himself and his son.
Cecil had a passion for food and truly enjoyed cooking for everyone. He had a custom BBQ pit built, where he BBQ’d several times for his family and friends. He was especially known for his famous brisket which as he would say, “will melt in your mouth.” He always made sure there was enough for everyone plus some.
Cecil is survived by his Wife, Rhonda Popham; Mother and Step-dad Peggy and Robert Popham; Daughter and Son-In-Law Brittany and Chris Watson; Daughter and Son-In-Law Robin and Christopher DePrato; Son Cecil Popham III; Grandchildren Cameron Watson, Cheyanne Watson, Jordyn DePrato, Weston DePrato and Spencer DePrato; Sister and Husband Charlene and Shannon Boyce; Sister and Husband Cindy and Ben Taylor; Brother and Wife Chad and JodiLee Popham; Sister and Husband Koushatta and Jake Berckenhoff and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
