Cecile Wilma (Willa) Hall was born on September 1, 1934 to parents Emedia and Adam Vice. Cecile was a true middle child born five years after three siblings, and five years before three more siblings. Born in Broussard, Louisiana, and raised in Lafayette she was a long time resident 44 years in Bellaire, TX and eight years in Sharpstown (Houston, TX).
Willa met her husband, Frank (Gene) Hall in 1955 and they married six weeks later. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 30, 2015. Head over heels in love, they started their journey in college at Southwestern Louisiana Institute. Willa and Gene had four children and raised their family in Bellaire Texas. Willa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, mem, and friend to many. She was known as “Mom” to her many, many children she raised in/out of the neighborhood and loved them all. She taught her family to have faith in our Savior Jesus Christ, and always had her door open for those that needed her.
Her passions in life were family and friends. She loved to cook and entertain, whether it was a cup of coffee or the annual Christmas party. Willa always had a shoulder to cry on, and words of wisdom when you needed them. Her kindness for all is evident by the many people she touched throughout her life. Everyone will have a story, none of us have heard before. Mom did a lot of good in her life for instance she would bring lemon-aide to the garbage workers, make cakes for the fire department and church bazaar, and everyone’s birthday. She had a way making everyone feel so loved and important. She never met a stranger. Gardening was a big passion for both her and Dad. She was always sewing for school, special projects, proms and weddings. She taught water conservation before it was popular and recycling before it’s time.
