A Sketch of Her Life …. Mrs. Celestine Edwards Ashley was born on November 13, 1943, to Robert Lee and Jennie Edwards in Navasota, TX. Celestine grew up in Houston, TX where she attended and graduated from Jack Yates High School, she was a bright student and a proud member of the Lady Lionettes drill team. After graduation she met and married Joe Allen Jackson, SR. to that union two children were born Joe Allen Jackson, Jr. and Kimberly Michelle Jackson. Joe Allen Jackson, SR preceded her in death. Celestine made a life for herself and her children in Houston, TX. She was employee of the Harris County Hospital District at Ben Taub Hospital for more than twenty five years. Later Celestine met and married Charles Edward Ashley and to that union a son Christopher Trave’ Jackson-Ashley was born. Charles Ashley preceded her in death. Celestine was a nurse professional and spent many years caring for others. She was a mother of fairness and generosity telling you what she thought whether you ask or not. We always knew we were loved and no difference was shown. Advice could be sought at any time by her children, family and friends alike. Momma to us all. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Joe Allen Jackson, Jr. and brother Robert L. Edwards Jr. she leaves to cherish her a daughter Kimberly Michelle Jackson, son Christopher Trave’ Jackson. A sister Christine Edwards dukes and husband Raymond dukes of Kansas City, MO. Six loving grandchildren Joseph Allen Jackson, Jr. of fort worth, TX, Brittany Nicole Gibson, Ameyah Yvonne Jackson, Cherish Ronia Jackson, Briant’e Celestine Jackson and Christopher Jackson, Jr. a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
