

Celia Vaughan Turner Ash, lovingly known as “Yaya”, of Deer Park, Texas passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 with her husband and family by her side. Celia was born June 25th, 1951 in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was the apple of her Daddy’s eye!
Celia was preceded in death by her father Hollis Edwin Turner Sr., mother Roxie Drucilla Turner, and brother Hollis Edwin Turner Jr.
Celia is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, William Joseph Ash; children Michael Ash (wife April) and Amanda Davis (husband Shawn); grandchildren Skyler Calvo (husband David), Ethan Ash, Seth Davis, and Eli Davis; three great granddaughters Teagan, Madelyn, and Karsyn; and many other nieces and nephews.
Celia loved red cardinal birds along with her hobbies including quilting, shopping, playing games, watching the Astros, and dining at local Mexican restaurants… but her greatest love of all was spending time with her family.
Celia retired in 2016 as the secretary of Red Bluff Elementary in Pasadena, Texas where she made many lifelong friends after 28 years of service. She was best known there for her kind, witty, and caring nature.
A visitation will be held Saturday January 25, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
