Shirley,
I was saddened today to hear of Herb's death. I reflected on our trip to Israel and getting to know you two made it even better. What a happier world it would be if we could all duplicate Herb's smile. I share in your sorrow. With love, Janice Stewart Isaiah 41:10

Dear Shirley and family, this memorial of pictures is such a testimony of a beautiful fulfilled life you shared with Herb. May God bless you today and always with your heart overwhelemed in memories and smiles. I most remember that about Herb. His wonderful laugh and sense of humor. He was filled with compassion and kindness for everyone he knew. I am blessed to have known him and you.

Hi Shirley,
Let me the first of Herb's many Hawaiian friends and customers to tell you what a great guy he was, he embodied the very best of what folks SHOULD be, especially folks in his business. In my ten plus years of knowing him, doing business with him, visiting with him in both Texas and here in Hawai'i, I never heard a cross word, or a mean comment or an unchristian attitude toward anyone, despite, in my opinion, plenty of reason!
I know that he is in a better place, his last trip to Hawai'i was very a bitter sweet time, because I think we both knew it WAS his last.
I was saddened by his retirement, and now in this moment our business and industry is more the poorer by his passing.
As a customer of many Vendors in this business, he was one of the few sales reps I ever called friend.
RIP Herb!

Dear Shirley and all of your family,
I am so very sorry about the loss of your husband. I feel so sorry for you and your entire family. I have some very nice memories of Charles Herbert as a child. I was particulary sad I was unable to be at our family reunion this past year in Texas. My husband was actually in the hospital at the time of that reunion.
Please give my best to you, your children, Susie and Adele and their families.
Fondly, Penny Asel Besecke
