Charles Edward Denman was born on December 8, 1943 to Pearlie B. Phipps and was blessed to have fathers Hill “Gee” Perry and Henry Denman. He graduated High School at Douglas in Cleveland, Texas, where he was known by many to be an exceptional basketball player, to which he shared many great stories with family.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Vella Denman on November 22, 1963. They were happily married for 56 years.
Charles accepted Christ at Greater Northeast Antioch Baptist Church in Houston, TX under the leadership of the late Dr. V.L. Parker.
He began his Employment with the Borden Milk Company and later gained employment at the Port of Houston with the ILA Local 24 family where he remained until the time of his passing.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother Pearlie Denman Peet, fathers Hill Perry and Henry Denman; sin Ray Charles Denman and sister Ethel Denman.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: wife Vella Denman; sons Prentice (Katie) Denman, Dreginald Denman; daughters Carprena Denman and Toy Denman; Brothers Carl Denman, Henry Denman, Larry (Winnie) Perry, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Perry, Eugene (Neet) Perry, and Doyle Perry; Sisters Helen Denman, Beverly (Eddie) Hill, Celestia (Doug) Jarmon, Nell (Terry) Williams, Nikita (Kenneth) Johnson and Earline Moss; Eight grandchildren, Prentcess, Timothy, Prenecia, Paige, Anastasia, Kaissey, Maliyah, and Melody; four great-grands, Peyton, Peysley, Sapharie and Addalyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
