Charles was educated in the Jewett, TX public school system graduating from GW Carver School. He went on to continue his education at Prairie View A&M Univ., in Prairie View, TX. where he met and married the beautiful Esther Lene Gray. To this union, four daughters were born. Charles’ career spanned over 28 yrs at WKM Valve Division, later named Cooper Cameron Iron Works where he moved through the ranks of Foreman, Supervisor and ultimately to Superintendent. After retiring, Charles began buying more real estate and actively participated in the stock market and could talk about financial topics for hours. He had a generous and giving spirit and was well known in his neighborhood as Mr. Pistol because he was an avid collector of pistols and firearms.
Charles found his “happy place” visiting Jewett, TX that he called “the country” where he raised Brahma cattle, farmed, deer hunted and walked or drove along his property lines. He accompanied his girls on cruises and trips to Las Vegas many times. This brought him contentment and peace of mind. Charles loved his girls and they loved him more.
